Model Car Hall of Fame at the Spielwarenmesse

The Model Car Hall of Fame (MCHOF) from the USA is coming to the next Spielwarenmesse, which takes place in Nuremberg from 28 January to 1 February 2025. “We are delighted at this new arrival, which will be a splendid addition to our Model Railways and Model Construction product group,” says Christian Ulrich, Spokesperson of the Executive Board at Spielwarenmesse eG. On behalf of the diecast community worldwide, the MCHOF is managed by hobbyDB – the world’s fastest growing database for collectibles.

The MCHOF is an established part of the automotive world and is well known for the recognition it gives to the pioneers of the model vehicle industry for their work in the promotion and advancement of the hobby. Over 200 talented individuals have been inducted in this way – from designers to entrepreneurs. Brands, too, are honoured through the Model of the Year award in various categories. The induction ceremony will take place at the fair on the afternoon of Thursday 30 January in the Toy Business Forum. “I cannot think of a better place than the Spielwarenmesse to celebrate the very best in model cars,” says MCHOF Creative Director Ron Ruelle.

From 23 July, the public will have the opportunity to submit nominations in a total of 31 categories at www.modelcarhall.com. Once the selection committee has chosen its favourites, the full list of nominees will be published with images and background information, further heightening levels of anticipation in the run-up to the Spielwarenmesse.
